Drug Overdose Deaths in Wayne County and Ohio 2015-2024
The rate of drug overdose deaths are strongly affected by the age distribution of the county population. The graph below provides the change in age-adjusted rates since 2015 in the state and in the county. The data shows that the rate of drug overdoses has fallen in Wayne County at a rate faster than in the state of Ohio as a whole.

With some of the data, the map will zoom out beyond Wayne County, as some offenders do not live in Wayne County (the home button in the top right corner will bring you back home to Wayne County).
Emergency Room Visits
The next series of charts report on emergency room visits for drug overdoses. This data needs to be viewed with care. The "drug" category includes over-the-counter drugs--thus the number of young children visiting the ER may be due to children accidentally consuming otherwise benign drugs.
